For the last over 6 years, Yoga Therapist Samantha Sambrooke, has worked in the mental health field. She is ready to to share some techniques that have been effective at managing stress, improving interoception and unwinding muscular tension to anyone looking to find balance to body, breath and mind.
Whether you would like some practical tools to use in your life, or you’re a Yoga Teacher looking to add to your knowledge, this is for you.
In these hours, you will be introduced to:
Please note, this series is for absolutely anybody and is designed to gain skills/techniques to help build resiliency against stress and bring about more balance to body, breath and mind. If you are experiencing a serious mental health issue, Yoga is potentially a wonderful compliment to other therapy(ies) you may be exploring, however, it would be important to consult with your relevant health care practitioner(s) to discuss if this is right for you at this time.
For Yoga Teachers, this experience is eligible for 30 Continuing Education hours from the Yoga Alliance.
Participants will be provided handouts as well as recordings of the sessions to replay for one month after the last session.

- Psychoeducation (learn the physiologically behind the stress response including the role of the Vagus Nerve and Yoga specifically for the Vagus Nerve)
- SomaYoga (small and gentle movements, which help alleviate chronic pain and improve physical function and mobility)
- Guided Relaxation Techniques (for anxious and busy minds)
- Breathing Exercises (for Hyperaroused as well as Hypoaroused states)
- Methods for Managing Strong Emotions (how to turn towards sensations as opposed to suppressing)
- Tips for Better Sleep (how to improve sleep hygiene through Yoga)
- How to care for the senses to create a resilient nervous system
- Yoga Philosophy and Ayurveda (connecting the dots between theory and practice so you can become empowered in choosing the exercise/technique that is suitable for you in the moment)
